What kind of flight instruction do you offer?

Wolf Pack Aviation offers comprehensive formation flight instruction for pilots wanting to take their skills to the next level. With our experienced instructors, you'll receive the best instruction and training to help you challenge your existing skillset. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced pilot, our formation camps will help you become a better pilot. We take safety seriously, so we'll ensure that you get the most out of your training and that you learn in a safe environment.

What qualifications do your flight instructors have?

Our flight instructors hold ATPL licenses, and have significant military flight instruction experience. They regularly undergo additional training to stay current. You can regularly see them flying together in formation. Stay tuned to our instagram page for regular updates on our ongoings.

How long does it take to complete flight training?

Like all flight training, the length of formation training will vary from student to student, and will be customized based on student's prior experience, training, skill, and progression.

A typical weekend formation clinic will include two sorties per day.

An example schedule is as follows:

0900-1000: Briefing

1000-1200: Mission 1

1200-1400: Lunch with partial debrief

1400-1600: Mission 2

1600-1700: Comprehensive Debrief

*A student will get 1 hr per mission of active flying. On a 2 hour mission, a role swap will occur half way throughout the sortie for the other student.

Each formation camp you attend takes you to the next level of skill to build on the previous missions. Our syllabus progressively walks you through the basics and fundamentals to more advanced manoeuvring, including turning rejoins, trail, fluid manoeuvring, tactical turns, and aerobatic manoevering.

What type of aircraft do you use for flight training?

We use light GA aircraft that are well matched in performance when flying together in formation. Options include use of your aircraft, but we can also use the aircraft in our arsenal (Harmon Rocket, Lancair Legacy, RV6, RV7A).

If using your own aircraft, they must be suitable for formation instruction in a dynamic environment (dual controls, throttles accessible to both pilots, similar performance to the lead aircraft).

What are the costs associated with flight training?

The costs of flight training vary depending on the location, the aircraft used, the number of students on a given course, and the frequency of lessons. Because each course is custom tailored to our students and their needs, we provide detailed pricing information on a case-by-case basis. We offer package deals, and have several strategies to help manage costs. Contact us for a quote.

Do you offer other services?

Yes, our network is extensive and our instructors have experience in consulting purchases of aircraft, pre-buy inspections, development and execution of test flying the first 25 hours on an experimental (homebuilt) aircraft, and high-performance aircraft checkouts, and tail-wheel training. We also can do formation flypasts for your special event.
